Article 1
Privacy information
"Personal information" means information about a living individual as defined under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information — information that can identify a specific person by name, date of birth, address, phone number, contact details, or other descriptions contained in the data.
"History and characteristic information" means privacy-related information other than personal information — such as services used, products purchased, pages and ads viewed, search keywords, usage date and time, usage methods, usage environment, postal code, gender, occupation, age, IP address, cookie information, location data, and device identifiers.
Article 2
How we collect privacy information
We may ask for personal information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, or driver's license number when users register. We may also collect transaction records and payment information containing personal information from partners (information providers, advertisers, ad delivery partners, etc.).
We collect history and characteristic information — including services and software used, products purchased, pages and ads viewed, search keywords, usage date and time, usage methods, usage environment (including communication status and settings when using mobile devices), IP address, cookie information, location data, and device identifiers — when users use our or partners' services or view pages.
Article 3
Purpose of collecting and using personal information
We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:
- To display registration information, usage status, and related billing information so users can view and edit their account details
- To send notices and contact users by email, or to deliver products and communicate as needed using contact information such as name and address
- To verify identity using name, date of birth, address, phone number, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, or certified mail delivery results
- To bill users for products and services using product names, quantities, service types, periods, billing amounts, and payment-related information
- To improve services using records, results, surveys, and interview information
- To pre-fill input screens with registered information or transfer data to other services at the user's direction
- To refuse service to users who violate terms, cause payment delays, harm third parties, or attempt fraudulent use
- To respond to inquiries using inquiry content, billing information, service usage status, and contact information
- For purposes incidental to the above
Article 4
Provision of personal information to third parties
We will not provide personal information to third parties without prior user consent, except as permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws.
- When required by law
- When necessary to protect life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult
- When particularly necessary for public health or sound development of children and obtaining consent is difficult
- When cooperation is required for government agencies or local public bodies to perform statutory duties and obtaining consent may impede such performance
- When the following have been announced or published in advance: inclusion of third-party provision in the purpose of use; data items provided; means or method of provision; and cessation of provision upon request
The following cases are not considered third-party provision:
- When we outsource all or part of personal information handling within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
- When personal information is provided due to business succession through merger or other reasons
- When personal information is jointly used with specific parties and users have been notified or can easily learn of the joint use, items, scope, purpose, and responsible manager
Article 5
Disclosure of personal information
When we receive a request for disclosure of personal information from the individual concerned, we will disclose it without undue delay. However, we may refuse all or part of disclosure if it would fall under any of the following, and we will notify the individual promptly if we decide not to disclose. A fee of ¥1,000 per request may apply for disclosure.
- When disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or other rights of the individual or a third party
- When disclosure may significantly impede proper conduct of our business
- When disclosure would violate other laws and regulations
History and characteristic information and other non-personal information will generally not be disclosed.
Article 6
Correction and deletion
If a user's personal information held by us is incorrect, the user may request correction or deletion through our prescribed procedures.
If we determine that a correction or deletion request should be honored, we will perform the correction or deletion without undue delay and notify the user.
Article 7
Suspension of use
If we receive a request to suspend use or delete personal information ("suspension of use") on grounds that it is handled beyond the purpose of use or was obtained by wrongful means, we will conduct necessary investigation without undue delay and, based on the results, suspend use or take alternative measures necessary to protect the individual's rights when suspension is difficult due to cost or other reasons.
Article 8
